1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Kidane ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you disagree with any part of these terms, you may not access the App.

2. Description of Service

Kidane is a mobile application that provides daily scripture readings, liturgical calendar information, Bible study tools, and community features for Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Christians. The App includes both free and premium features.

3. User Accounts

3.1 Account Creation

To use certain features of the App, you must create an account. You agree to:

  • Provide accurate, current, and complete information
  • Maintain and update your information to keep it accurate
  • Maintain the security of your password
  • Accept responsibility for all activities under your account

3.2 Account Termination

You may delete your account at any time. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the App for any illegal purpose or in violation of any laws
  • Post content that is harmful, abusive, defamatory, or offensive
  • Harass, threaten, or harm other users
  • Impersonate any person or entity
  • Interfere with or disrupt the App or servers
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any portion of the App
  • Use automated systems to access the App without permission

5. User Content

5.1 Your Content

You retain ownership of content you create in the App (bookmarks, notes, prayer requests, etc.). By posting content, you grant us a license to store, display, and distribute that content through the App.

5.2 Content Moderation

We reserve the right to remove any content that violates these Terms or is otherwise objectionable, without prior notice.

6. Intellectual Property

The App and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by Kidane and are protected by international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. The Bible translations and liturgical content are used in accordance with their respective licenses.

You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of the App without our prior written consent.

7. Disclaimers

THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT.

We do not guarantee that the App will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free, or that defects will be corrected.

8. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, KIDANE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS OR REVENUES, WHETHER INCURRED DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, USE, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES RESULTING FROM YOUR USE OF THE APP.

9. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Kidane, its affiliates, and their respective officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including legal fees) arising out of or relating to your use of the App or violation of these Terms.

10. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify users of material changes by posting the updated Terms in the App or via email. Your continued use of the App after such changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

11. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which Kidane operates, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
